Journey Map

For my first project at uni I had to map my journey home without the use of road names by taking inspiration from the things around me or through the way I felt as I went home. I began taking snapshots on my phone walking home and quickly realised how many restrictions were surrounding me. Despite the normal speed limits, traffic lights and parking restrictions that I was familiar with from Bristol, the number of one way roads around Winton was surprising – every other road had a no entry or one way sign. Using this as a starting point I began to map my way home, taking sign symbols and colour as inspiration. I arranged my symbols in uniform rows, giving a sense of standardisation and conforming.
